Manual Focus SLR Mailing List

SLRMAN is the mailing list for ALL makes of Manual Focus SLRs in ALL formats,
for BOTH users and collectors.   If you prefer the "old fashioned" precision of real metal instead of plastic, of actually controlling the focus yourself instead of being a slave to the camera, this is the list for you.   How wide is the format range ? I'm not sure, but off hand I can think of the Pentax 110 to the Graflex   4x5.

These are the list guidelines:

• Flaming and uncivil behavior on the list is strongly discouraged.  Flame posts will get you removed from the list.   Spirited discussion is strongly encouraged, but be nice to each other. 

• Please stay on topic with SLR and photography related posts.   Save discussion for such topics as hats, underwear, war crimes, religion, etc for your private email, instead of uselessly cluttering the inboxes of SLRMAN List  members who subscribed for ON topic discussions. 

• Email diarrhea: Some lists are occasionally "attacked" by overzealous members who think they must respond to practically every post.  Please limit your postings to no more than five per day.  

• Witty replies: Some lists have members under the delusion that everyone subscribed to read their often ill conceived attempts at humor and quick repartee.   Please save smart-ass replies for private email, or the stage if you really are a comedian. 

• Selling and Buying: Private sellers or buyers may post their ads any day, but limit your ads to once per week.   Dealer for sale or buying posts of any kind of ads are not allowed,   a standard which I will also follow.   If you have questions about something for sale or wanted, email the person privately instead of posting your question to the list.

• Email format or Digest format is controlled by the options you set under the MY TOPICA section after you register with TOPICA.   You will need Java, Java Script, and Cookies back to the originating server enabled in order to register.  After registering you can turn all of these off, if that is your preference, and still receive the list.

• TOPICA.com has hundreds of other mailing lists.  You can check them out and subscribe by logging into "My TOPICA."  You will need to enable your browser for Java, Java Script, and cookies back to the originating server. 

• Search List Archives by logging into your  "MY TOPICA" and use the search option

• Unsubscribe by logging into "MY TOPICA" at TOPICA.com.   You will need to enable your browser for Java, Java Script, and cookies back to the originating server.

• People removed for not following list guidelines may also be removed from my other lists.

The list was started November 9, 2000 -- as of 12/29/02 it has 289 members
