CameraQuest Warranty for New Cosina Voigtlander Products
New Cosina Voigtlander Products are guaranteed one year from the date of shipment to you, for defects in materials, workmanship, and mechanical working order by the CameraQuest in house warranty. Not included is anything dropped or otherwise damaged by ANY sort of accident or abuse. This includes inadvertently poking your finger thru the shutter while trying to load film, and jamming the shutter by trying to advance the film while the shutter was still open from the previous exposure. The warranty covers parts and labor, NOT shipping or insurance which is the owner's responsibility. The warranty is void IF, in my opinion, the item was damaged by a previous repair attempt. The CQ warranty extends to the original purchaser only.
Most CameraQuest warranty repairs will be shipped back to you 3-4 weeks after we receive them, however some repairs could take longer if parts are not immediately available. After the warranty expires, repairs for Cosina Voigtlander items bought at CameraQuest will be available at a 25% discount.
We will not do "rush" repairs, warranty or otherwise. For your information, not all repair people are familiar with the new Cosina Voigtlander cameras and lenses. I started importing Voigtlander into the US as soon as they were available in Japan. In fact, I was importing Voigtlander about 6 months before the first official USA importer. As I am writing this in late September 2002, there presently is NO official USA importer. As a result, my repair technician is probably the most experienced in the US for either Cosina Voigtlander cameras or the lenses. While any camera or lens can fail, the Voigtlander repair rate is small compared to the overall number of sales.
Owners pay shipping and insurance both ways on warranty repairs. The shipping liability is with the shipper and their insurance. If anything is damaged or lost in shipment, it is the owner's responsibility to deal with the insurance and or the shipper. Registered mail may take a bit longer, but may well be the safest.
If you believe something is wrong, email before shipping the item for repair, to confirm attention is needed. Payment to cover the return shipping and insurance by the method of your choice must accompany the returned item. IF I am out of town when your package arrives, the repair will wait until I return.
