These postcard-sized references are laminated for field use, and have a full set of depth of field information for your 35mm lenses.
The set includes one card each for the 20mm, 24mm, 28mm, 35mm, 50mm, 85mm, and 105mm focal lengths, plus a hyperfocal distance card for lenses from 14mm to 200mm. That's 8 laminated cards that fit into virtually any camera bag and provide you with all the data you need to manage your depth of field. All cards have distances in feet and meters, and individual lens cards include near and far in-focus points for eight common focus distances at apertures from f/1.4 to f/32. How was the data calculated? By using the Zeiss method for establishing circle of confusion (0.025 for 35mm), then applying the formulas that appear in my books. You even get hyperfocal distances for each aperture (a hyperfocal distance is the point at which you should focus to get the maximum focus depth, including infinity).
But wait, that's not all! (oh, oh, Thom's in infomercial mode...) If you order now, you'll get an Excel workbook that lets you create charts for lenses you don't get cards for! This easy-to-use spreadsheet can generate near/far and hyperfocal distance tables for virtually any lens, any aperture, and for any focus distance. And yes, it does it in both feet and meters.
